Getting Easier....

I am only on day 8, but the days are getting much easier for me. I am still keeping a low calorie intake and have even gone out to eat a few times now. My activity is increasing drastically. I spent an hour and ten minutes on the treadmill last night. The first twenty minutes I alternated running and walking. However, I got wrapped up in a TV show and did not quit at the end of my scheduled 30 minutes. I decided to go 45 minutes and then decided to finish my show. According to the computer, I burned about 800 calories in that session. My wife found a great website where you put your current weight and duration of the activity and it will calculate your calories burned. If anyone wants the website, let me know. It has been very helpful. I still hope to get below 300 this week. I am now going to get on the treadmill and watch the second half of American Idol.

It is amazing how losing a little weight combined with some physical activity quickly changes our mindset from couch potato to athlete. That athletic mindset helps to make good choices when it comes to eating and staying committed to working out. You are doing great! I don't want us to ever go back to the other mindset, I want to believe my best shape is in my future not in my past and so is yours!
